Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, combine lean ground turkey, whole wheat breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, and grated Parmesan cheese (if using). Season with salt and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Shape the turkey mixture into meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until meatballs are cooked through and golden brown.
- While the meatballs are baking, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add spiralized zucchini noodles and sauté for 3-4 minutes until tender.
- Pour marinara sauce over the zucchini noodles and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
- Serve the lean turkey meatballs over the zucchini noodles. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
